Till apps (Retail + Restaurant)
Use this page when you need to pick the right till app for your store type, or want to know what a till app can and cannot do.
Goal
You need to know which till app to use for your store, what features the till covers, and where the back office picks up.
Where this happens
The till is the tablet or terminal at the counter. Sign in with your PIN.
- On the till (Retail): Standard Flagship (Retail POS) or Ultra variant — both run on the same counter device.
- On the till (Restaurant): Standard Flagship (Restaurant POS) or Ultra variant — both run on the same counter device.
- On the till (Pharmacy): the Ultra Pharmacy POS variant — has batch and expiry controls.
- In the back office (Core App): everything the till cannot do — adding stock, changing prices, viewing reports.
Prerequisites
A till device (Standard Flagship or Ultra) signed in to your store.
Steps
1. Retail stores
Use Retail POS App (Standard Flagship) or Ultra Retail POS App (newer). Both ring up products, take payments, and manage receipts.
2. Restaurant stores
Use Restaurant POS App (Standard Flagship) or Ultra Restaurant POS App (newer). Both handle tables, kitchen orders, and split bills.
3. Pharmacy stores
Use Ultra Pharmacy POS App (newest). Adds batch and expiry controls.
4. What they all have in common
Sign in with your PIN · POS screen rings up sales · Refund screen handles refunds · End User Shift closes the shift · Support drawer raises tickets.
5. What they don't have
Till apps do NOT have admin features — that is the Core App. To add a product, change a price, or view reports, use the back office.
Expected result
You know which till app to use and what it can and cannot do.
Edge cases
- Your till is on the old Standard Flagship app — both are supported; ask your supervisor when the Ultra upgrade will happen.
- You cannot sign in on the till — your supervisor needs to set up your PIN in the Core App (Finance & Admin → HR Management → Employee Security).
- The till is offline — sales still save on the device and upload automatically; see working offline.
- A feature is missing that you remember from last week — check the Ultra upgrade roll-out with your supervisor; some features land Ultra first.
Restaurant features — where to find them
The Restaurant POS App includes several screens that only exist on the Restaurant variant. Use the hub page below to jump to each one:
- Mobile POS — touch-optimised floor layout.
- Pre-cashups — shift-end reconciliation before the formal cash-up.
- Kitchen Orders — the kitchen display (KDS) the chef uses.
- Smart Lodging — charge to a guest's room folio (hotels, lodges).
